Getting around

Buses 8, 9, and 10 run straight along the main road into the city centre, and out the other way toward Huyton and St Helens. The 139 gets you to the University of Liverpool in around ten minutes.

Edge Hill station is a short walk away and holds the record for the oldest railway station buildings still open to the public anywhere in the world, which is a strange thing to learn while waiting for a train to Lime Street. Lime Street itself, and the rest of the city centre, is an easy bus ride away, or a brisk twenty-minute walk if you'd rather save the fare.

The University of Liverpool is the closest by far: under a mile away, an easy 15-minute walk from most streets in Kensington, or a few minutes quicker on the 139 bus.

Liverpool John Moores University's city campus is about two miles off. That's roughly 15 to 20 minutes on the 8, 9, or 10 bus, or half an hour on foot if the weather's on your side.
