For green space, Brickfield Park gives you a decent view over the rooftops, and the Two Tunnels Greenway runs along the old Somerset and Dorset railway line if you want to walk or cycle without dodging traffic.

Getting around

Oldfield Park station sits at the junction of Brook Road and Moorland Road, with Great Western Railway running around two trains an hour. It's two minutes to Bath Spa station, and from there you're on to Bristol Temple Meads, Westbury, Salisbury, Gloucester or Weymouth without changing.

Buses cover the rest. The U2 runs directly between Oldfield Park and the University of Bath during term time, and the U3 links Oldfield Park to both universities on a single route, running out to Bath Spa University one way and up to the University of Bath the other. Plenty of students skip the bus altogether and walk into the centre when the weather allows it.

Oldfield Park works for students at both of Bath's universities, which is a large part of why it's stayed one of the city's steadier student areas.

The University of Bath sits up on Claverton Down, reached directly by the U2 or via the U3. Bath Spa University's main campus is at Newton Park, a short way out past the city centre, and the same U3 route continues on to Newton Park after it passes through Oldfield Park. Few Bath student streets put both universities on one bus.
