Student Accommodation in Highfield
Student housing in Highfield, Southampton
Highfield wraps around the University of Southampton's main campus, so most people hunting for student housing in Highfield want the same thing: a ten-minute walk to a 9am, not a bus you have to catch in the dark. Housr keeps that search simple. Filter by weekly price, bedrooms and bathrooms, see everything laid out on the map, and shortlist the houses that actually fit how you want to live.
What's around Highfield
This is the quieter, leafier end of student Southampton. You're right next to Southampton Common, the biggest green space in the city, which runs a free parkrun every Saturday morning and has the Hawthorns wildlife centre tucked inside it. Good for a run, a reset between deadlines, or pretending you're going to start running.
Day to day, you've got the campus cafés on your doorstep and the shops along Portswood Road a short stroll south when you need a proper supermarket. Highfield itself stays residential, so when you want a louder night, Portswood's bars are walkable and town is a quick bus away. It suits people who like being close to campus without living on top of the noise.
Getting around
The Unilink interchange sits right by the campus, which makes this one of the easiest spots in the city to get around from. The U1, U2 and U6 services all run through Highfield, with the U1 connecting the city centre, Portswood, campus and Southampton Airport roughly every ten minutes on weekdays.
For trains, Swaythling station is about a 20-minute walk or a short hop on the bus, and St Denys is close too, both on the line into Southampton Central. Most of Highfield is flat enough to cycle, so a bike covers campus, Portswood and the Common without much effort.

Bills, sorted
Splitting bills off a spreadsheet is where most house-shares fall apart. One payment, one place to check, far less chasing.
