Student housing in Bristol city centre
Living in the centre means everything is on your doorstep, and finding the right room shouldn't be the hard part. On Housr you can filter student housing in Bristol city centre by weekly price, bedrooms and bathrooms, switch between list, tile and map views, and book a viewing with one short form. Sort first, scroll less.
The centre suits students who want to roll out of bed fifteen minutes before a lecture and still have time for a coffee. You're close to both universities, the harbour and most of the city's nights out, which is a lot of the reason student accommodation in Bristol city centre gets snapped up early each year.
What's around the city centre
The Harbourside is the bit everyone shows their parents: waterside walks, the SS Great Britain, and pubs and restaurants lined along the water. For shopping, Cabot Circus covers the big brands under its shell-shaped glass roof, while St Nicholas Market has been running since 1743 and is still the best spot in the city for cheap street food between classes.
Nights out range from the indie venues around the Old City to Bristol Beacon, the concert hall on Trenchard Street that reopened in late 2023 after a long refurbishment. College Green and Queen Square give you green space in the middle of it all when you need to sit down and pretend to read.
Getting around
The centre is the hub of Bristol's bus network, so almost everything starts or ends here. MetroBus m1, m2 and m3 run frequently from The Centre, and the m3 reaches UWE's Frenchay Campus in around 15 minutes. Bristol Temple Meads station is a short walk or bus ride away for trains home, and most of the city is genuinely walkable once you're based centrally.
Universities near the city centre
The University of Bristol precinct sits just uphill, roughly a 10 to 15 minute walk through the Old City and up Park Street. UWE's main Frenchay Campus is north of the centre and easiest by metrobus. If your timetable is split across sites, the centre is the one address that keeps both within reach. Accommodation in the city centre
The centre leans towards studios and en-suite rooms in larger buildings, with some shared flats and houses mixed in. On Housr you can filter by weekly price, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and narrow to single rooms or studios, so you only look at places that fit how you want to live.
